Direct Embed Incorporated Project Wins 2022 Merit Award at the SEGD conference

Direct Embed has been instrumental in a number of award wining wayfinding, placemaking and public art projects. One of the best has been Logan Memorial Campus which won an SEGD merit award in 2022. The award article featuring the project describes the Direct Embed role in the project. From the web site:

“Visual Asylum then delivered a Construction Document package which included very tight build documents. The team worked closely with MS Signs/Direct Embed Coatings to ensure our CD renderings were almost at a shop drawing level. Much of the signage was fabricated by Direct Embed Coatings.”

The Future is in Parks and Trails

In the next five years over 20 billion dollars will be spent on city parks, rail trails and preserves. All of these places will need signs for wayfinding, identity and display. Powder coating is the best system for park graphics and coatings. DE high resolution graphics can wrap around or integrate with posts, negating the need for extra hardware. DE can also mimic wood patterns for a natural, but durable approach.

DE has done dozens of park projects but two stand out.

Longwood Gardens. One of our first projects as a company, Longwood signs wrap wound posts with beautiful illustrative graphics. It is featured in the showcase.

DC Parks. One of our more recent projects where powder coating is used on posts and panels.

Direct Embed is the Choice for Durable Exhibitions

Direct Embed has been the leading choice for projects that combine durability, tactility and high resolution graphics. Exhibitions for museums, travelling shows and institutions are places where powder coated graphics shine. In 2020 we completed some incredible exhibition projects in collaboration with designers and fabricators.

MANILA AMERICAN CEMETERY

The Manila American Cemetery Visitor Center is an award winning exhibit designed by D|G Partners. Direct Embed coordinated the powder coated graphic panels for fabricator Color-Ad Inc., responsible for exhibition fabrication, installation and turnkey management, to ensure that the large number of different panels matched the tight color and graphic palette standards before packaging for overseas assembly.

The Manila American Cemetery won second place in the Interior Exhibit category of the NAI Interpretive Media Competition.

Direct Embed Works with Gecko Group Again at Nashville Zoo

Direct Embed has worked on theme parks, zoos, museums, and exhibitions. We particularly like working with creative designers like the Gecko Group, translating their vision into great interpretive graphics. This is their recent work at the Nashville Zoo.

The Nashville, TN zoo introduces new tiger exhibit. This video was taken April 12, 2019 at the ribbon cutting ceremony. The opening of the Sumatran tiger exhibit makes for Nashville Zoo's 4th new exhibit within the last 2 years.

Direct Embed Central to the New Statue of Liberty Museum

We all loved visiting the statue of liberty as a kid but in recent years the crowds have made the experience difficult. The new Stature of Liberty Museum can bring the magic of the 150 year old monument to millions. Direct Embed worked closely with designer ESI and fabricator Maltbie to create durable panels to interpret the statue. Direct Embed is becoming the go-to for durable exhibition graphics, particularly for places that require both high resolution and durability.

A dedication ceremony was held this morning on Liberty Island. The 26,000-square-foot museum celebrates the Statue of Liberty's history, influence and legacy around the world. CBS2's Mary Calvi reports.

DIRECT EMBED HELPS REDISCOVER HISTORY AT THE OHIO STATE UNIVERSITY

OSU DE 2017 (2)b1.jpg

If you have walked the Ohio State University it is most likely you have been standing on the site of the old Ohio Field torn down in 1922. These days several buildings and roadways cover the land. University architect Bernie Costantino developed a university project to commemorate the field and the legends who competed on it with signs and yard markers that were installed in the spring of 2017. All graphics on the markers were developed with the Direct Embed Coating System which was perfect to wrap the three dimension landmarks in historic pictures and interpretive text.
